    The usual protocol from my past experience - is that your solicitor is the go-between. The barrister, or chambers, is not contacted directly by the claimant. . I was told this when I sent a letter to a barrister / chambers acting for me, and I got no reply. The solicitor was the front man to the public, took care of it all, inc barrister fees.
    It was my legal expenses insurer that instructed the individual in question, which also raises questions as to a conflict of interest. The other barristers involved worked through the same chambers, who essentially closed ranks with each other, and ultimately permanently denied me access to all the legal services that that chambers provides.

      That's for sure. In my honest opinion, the respective individuals do not have a healthy conscience, or any conscience at all, which is not uncommon sadly.
