We have sent a Letter Before Action to a company regarding work done in our house and have had no satisfactory response.
Before taking the next step (lodging the claim), I am wondering if I should go ahead and appoint an expert witness to produce a report. My worry is that I go ahead and pay £500+ for an expert witness, only to find out I cannot claim it back as part of the claim.
So, do I appoint the expert witness now, or at another further stage in the claims process?
Thank you.
