I have recently beengiven a court order by Mortimer Clarke solicitors acting on behalf of CabotFinancials. After them claiming I didn’tlodge my response they have now issued the judgement. I am going to attempt topay it off within one month to avoid it staying on my credit file. I wanted toknow if it’s worth asking them if they will take a lower payment so that I canmeet the deadline. Has anyone been successful in doing this ?

Re: CCJ - Lower Payment
You say they CLAIM you did not responded to the claim. Did you acknowledge service? Submit a defence? If you did within the time limits, the default judgment shouldn't have been obtained.Originally posted by anhar2010 View PostI have recently beengiven a court order by Mortimer Clarke solicitors acting on behalf of CabotFinancials. It may be possible to get the default judgment set aside if you have a valid defence. It will cost you £255 to apply for it so may not be worth it if the amount of the judgment is small.
Normally only CCJs paid in full within one month are not on record, and that's not just your credit file but a public record that, unlike your credit file, anyone who knows your name and address can search upon payment of a small fee.
