    co-defendant already settled claim

    What happens if a co-defendant has secretly agreed a settlement with the claimants? Are they allowed to do that or do they have to declare it to the court (apparently they just want me to pay up)

    It would be for the claimant to inform the court if & when they discontinue the claim.
