Some questions regarding CCJ claim form

Hello

I have received a claim form through the post today for the first time ever. I have read through this and many other forums and seen a lot of examples of the claim forms from Northampton Bulk Centre. I can most likely afford to settle the issue before it proceeds to a CCJ. However some things on the form look odd to me compared to other ccj claim form examples I have seen. I will state what I feel looks odd and if anyone could help I would be grateful.

The writing is in black in white boxes, the colour around these boxes is pale grey. in most it it was blue from what I could see in the other forms I have seen. In the rectangle box at the bottom on the first page, on most examples I have come across they seem to carry a barcode in this area, mine is white and blank. The circular county court stamp with crown/logo has been printed by a printer and has not been stamped on to the paper, is this normal ? Also where Claim form is stated in bold all other examples seem to have the coat of arms logo to the left in the top left corner, mine is printed to the right. It does have a claim number on first page top right hand corner in bold so I would guess this is a correct form,sorry to sound a little paranoid. But as a newbie to this I thought I would ask before I act on it.

Was the form from Northampton County Court Business Centre, or was it issued by a local County Court via a solicitors office.
Often claim forms (Form N1) are copied in the latter.

Thanks Steve, Nem for the advice and information, appreciated.

One further question please, I had not acknowledged this yet at moneyclaim website etc, I intend to make a faster payment to settle this in the next few days, have till 23rd (14 days) to do this I understand. In the event I pay the company off say with in the next week, do I still have to log on to moneyclaim website to adknowledge this still even after paying them or do I just do nothing further and the CCJ will not be applied for against me after paying the company. A bit unsure to how this works ?

If you are unsure best thing it to ring the court with the claim number to check if genuine.

You can pay it then log in to MCOL and tell the court it is paid. If you intend on paying after 14 days you must still acknowledge the claim.

Thanks Amethyst, if they accept a lesser amount as settlement, would I still log on to moneyclaim site and tell the court it is paid even though the amount paid is different to the claim form received potentially ?

Short answer is yes. You would need, to protect yourself, to get their written agreement to accept the lesser sum in full and final settlement of the claim.

A lot depends on what you offer them a small amount might not sway them if the sum owed is high they could try for a judgement and then take further action to recover money

Best to follow the court process acknowledge and prepare a defence until they agree to stop the action. Above all do not trust them .
