  • CCJ partial payoff

    Hi there,

i have been issued a CCJ in july 2012 by Bryan and Carter for £4250 MBNA credit card . I was paying £50 per month (Direct Debit) to Arrow and Global (Claimant) as per court order. After 11 payments arrow and global have cancelled their direct debit and did not contact me for a while. After few months got a letter from a company called drydenfairfax stating that Arrow and Global have informed them to collect the money i owe them. I have explained them about my financial situation and they agreed for a £25 per month DD. Now i still owe them around £3600 and they came up with an offer to pay £1800 to close the account.

    my question is
    1. why did Arrow and Global cancel my DD after 11 payments and passed it to drydenfairfax ?
    2. If i pay £1800 will my default and CCJ be marked as satisfied in the credit file or will the CCJ stay active for 6 years and default will be marked as satisfied ?

Please advice me if there anything in particular that i have to ask for while paying 1800.

    Thanks

The CCJ will remain on your file for six years from the date it was made unless you can negotiate that they remove it (which is most unlikely). As I understand it they cannot remove it from the Trust Registry although others may know different.
