  • Orange incorrect default

    Hello,

I've had the most ridiculous experience with Orange and I'll be as brief as possible.

Fraud was committed on my account and a default was regiestered against my name incorrectly and was on my credit file for over 2 years even though Orange admitted responsibility nearly a year into the complaint. I have logged complaints with Orange, EE, CISAS as well as spamming every director who's email address I can get. I've made over 100 phone calls to resolve the issue, been hung up on 20+ times promised numerous call backs that haven't happened and spent upwards of 40+ hours on the phone to Orange. Obviously this has been a very stressful time and receiving threatening letters from debt collection agencies as well as being declined credit (when I was unaware that the default was in place) has negatively impacted my financial situation. Orange have offered me £400 as a good will gesture however I want to take this as far as I can and make Orange realise just how unbelievably bad their service has been and I would like to start court action but I'm not sure where to start.

On top of this a phone my sister used in my name has also had the debt sold on, I called Orange on 26/01/2015 to confirm that there was no outstanding balance and that the closure would be successful, I was advised that there was no balance and that this wouldn't be an issue. 4 days later I received a letter from a debt collection company. I'm frustrated with the situation and besides calling Orange and screaming at them I'm not sure what I can do! thanks

    Re: Orange incorrect default

    Hi, welcome to LB
    Has the default been removed?
Have accepted the offer or formally rejected it?

What is it you want to achieve from a court action, damages for the affect on your credit profile, redress for provable losses?

      Re: Orange incorrect default

      Hello Nem,

Thanks for getting back to me the default was removed 2 months ago, so was on my credit file for a while, I have rejected the offer of a good will gesture. My aim is to get damages and redress, not just for the sake of getting money but I know that that's the way that will impact them the most, thanks.
