Did you not submit a defence ? Seems like you just put in your acknowledgement of service and didn't follow up with the defence. Bugger.

Did you receive ANY letters from court or the claimants after putting in your acknowledgment or sending the letters?

How did you submit the AoS ? MCOL or post ? and if post - which address ?

Just the AoS, I really am not good at this, I get in a real panic. Did not receive any other letters after the AoS. Is there nothing that can be done now?

Quick update, called the court and they sent me this. Does it mean if it is statute barred the judgement will be removed?

If you feel that Judgment was entered against you incorrectly and you would like to remove it you can still apply to set the Judgment aside using the N244 ‘Application Notice’. Please read this letter and the enclosed notes thoroughly before sending the application to the court as incorrectly completed applications will be returned to you.


There is a £155.00 court fee to process the application, payable by cheque or postal order to HMCTS. Please see the attached ex160a document if you feel that you may be applicable for a fee remission.

Card payments for application fees can be taken by contacting the Helpdesk on the above number between 9.30 and 3.30, Monday – Friday.

If you have already paid the application fee you can file the completed forms via email or fax as below

Please note, an application to set the Judgment aside is not automatically granted. The outcome of your application is at the discretion of the District Judge.

When returning your application please provide one copy of the application for each defendant, one copy for the claimant and one copy for the court.

Hi, IF the debt was already statute barred when the claim was issued then the court can set the judgement aside.
The issue of a claim stops the SB clock ticking on the date the claim was issued.
