I haven't applied for credit or anything for quite some time so was shocked recently when I applied to open a new bank account and was declined.
Having checked my credit file I discovered a CCJ for £160 in March 2011
Now the reason why I knew nothing about this is because it was issued at an address where I had vacated seven months previously.
Having now contacted the bulk processing centre it seems that the claimant was an Ashworth Law of Harrogate who were closed last year by the SRA over "dishonesty concerns"
Any advice on how I can now possibly resolve this would be appreciated.
I've no idea what the debt even relates to, and now have no way of finding out.
Are there grounds for me to challenge the CCJ at all perhaps?
