  • Dubai debt in UK

Hi, I have noticed several posts where debt incurred in UAE is being chased by a UK firm called CWD . I am in a similar situation where they have issued a default judgment (ccj) in by absence (I had not received any prior notification). I have since applied to set this aside and am awaiting an update. In the interim, I have just received a notice that an interim charging order has been put on my house with a date given for the end of this month for a hearing at a local court.
    my questions are:
can they do this with a UAE debt?
As the amount claimed (£39k) is more than the actual equity I have in my house after the mortgage provider takes their chunk, can I still sell my house and give them whatever is left over?
Can they force a house sale?
Has anyone had similar experiences with CWD?
Has anyone won a case against them?

    Look forward to your replies
