Re: lovey
Hi lovey
You need to get copy of statement etc from your bank to show the cheque was paid. You should also ask Makro for a full statement of your account which shows this cheque being paid.
Connaught are outside debt collectors who yes may have bought the debt so don't engage with them, once you have copies of the paperwork from bank and Makro send photocopies to Connaught and tell them to back off, and keep hold of the originals in case of any further action.

Re: lovey
just letters, just been on phone to bank ,after going threw statements over phone a total of 13 attempts for payment ,every monday where the cheque cleared and then deposited at another date .when i asked bank how i was never contacted or lettered as i never recieved any charges for this this he did not know. he said my overdraft at the time looked like it had not been activated may be because it was a new account .Now it looks like it was never honoured .i have a end of transaction statement from Makro and 55 paid invoices from sept 12 to dec 13 with never a lettr or phone call from Makro to say the cheque bounced .i am self employed caterer with a small seasonal franchise now i may owe the money. i have no money at present till seaon starts in sept .please can you advise me on my next step .Many Thanks lovey
