How to set aside a CCJ

Hi,

A ccj has been delivered to my previous UK address. I left the UK about 4 years ago to volunteer in my home country. On application to return the embassy denied me a VISA and I never pursued the matter further. I have no assets in the UK and therefore decided to stay on and carry on with my research. My bank has obtained a CCJ for an overdraft of 500 GBP which I have no means of paying from Africa.

I would appreciate advice on what to do/ or how to respond to the CCJ.

If you don't have any assets in the UK and are living in Africa, a CCJ in the UK won't have any effect on you. They may have obtained judgment against you but they have no way to enforce it in Africa. If you don't intend to return to the UK, you have nothing to be concerned about.

Don't open letters and ask the new occupier to mark them adresse no longer at this address return to sender.
