  • garage ripped me off

Hi there anyone any idea where I stand, My car was towed in to a garage and told by the mechanic that my car would cost to much to repair. This mechanic informed me there is a car that's just come in as part exchange and just past its mot. It looked fine until a drove about in it the brakes were grinding knocking noise when turning, I contacted the garage I was informed to bring the car back Monday being it was Saturday when I drove out of the garage with this car. Over the weekend I found lots of problems and wrote these down and on returning to the garage he said the car needs new brakes and drop link but would do nothing else. i INFORMED them no I would like my money back they said no. I put the car outside their garage and they finally decided to pay me my money back but unknown to me they paid me £50 back a week and said when the car is sold I could have all my money back.I noticed the car had gone when I asked where the car was I was told if was out on lone. So I asked for all my money they refused. This cased a lot of problems police were called from and the garage I was threatened and have a copy of this on dvd but for some reason I could not show this or the statement of complaints from other customers in the small claims court. In court the owner of the garage said all his staff could buy and sell car for their gain on his insurance and on his property. My concern is I dealt with this mechanic from start to finish how do I know I was dealing with the mechanic or the garage. In court this garage said he changed me £15 for the tow and so much for part and fitting, now why would anyone let alone a qualified garage buy this part fit if and scrap the car with this part on when the car would be too much to repair. The mechanic produced a print out of the bill of sale that he bought this car from a good friend. This is not the original nor a copy of the original saying he could not find the original. This print out was produced in court at the time of the case and not 14 days before as stated in the court proceeding and should have not been aloud. And one other point should this garage have a sign explaining about his staff being able to buy and sell cars.I have been informed there is no such insurance allowing staff to buy and sell cars for their gain on a garage insurance.

I have submitted an appeal on these ground what are my chances

Personally I would post this on this forum instead of here. They deal solely with motoring issues and have far more expertise than we do here:
