Hi all!

I'm new here, and wish I'd found this site months ago.

I have a hearing tomorrow morning for a Judgment set aside, and was wondering if anyone could tell me if I need to take anything (in defence) with me tomorrow?

What actually happens at a set aside hearing? I'm soooooo nervous!!

Hi. Take a newspaper for the waiting room and a written statement that is short, sweet and to the point. You can either give the court usher your written statement (When you sign in) or you can read it to the court yourself. Most judges prefer that they are given the chance to read your statements before the parties enter chambers (Judges office) so that they can prepare what questions they need to ask the parties before they sit down!

Take a full file with you ensuring that you know exactly where each document is in that file. Maybe number the pages and produce an index for yourself. If you are relying on any of those documents as evidence, they should be attached to your statement and reffered to by page number. Hope this helps. Best of luck!
