So will try to make this very long story short.
Parked at my husbands dentist this was in covid so i stayed siting in the car as he was having a tooth out and they said he needed to be brought home he had a major op a week before that so was not well in himself and on quite strong painkillers with a open wound. He didn't see/notice the machine to put your reg in and there where no signs that I could see at the time to do this.
We also moved home at this time so cut to a few months later we changed the log book and received a parking fine from DCBL we contacted the dentist they tried to get it cancelled the debt company refused so we went back and forth for a year with the dentist conforming app and their wish for it to be cancelled we sent a statement and evidence when we received a letter from civil enforcement asking for this we eventually received an email from DCBL saying they had been told to cease their pursuit of the debt this was on 1st November 2022.
Fast-forward to last Friday out of blue with zero correspondence before this point we received a a claim form for the court regarding paying the amount which is now much higher or we will be taken to court so I'm asking for some advice we thought it was finished with and don't really want to pay as we don't owe this money the dentist who own the land have asked for it to be stopped on multiple occasions but my health is now not the best and the stress of court process after a year of fighting before does not appeal to me so need some legal advice on what we would need to do on both sides because i also am struggling to understand the claim form.
