  • Received a further steps notice letter

I received a further steps notice letter for the sum of roughly £800-£900.
I called the court and was told this was for a speeding fine from 5 years ago!!!!
As the 21 day period to appeal to the court has passed (u had been away), what are my other options to appeal this?
they said they sent it to the bailiffs, however, no bailiff ever wrote to me, came to my house or anything. 5 years passed and no letters from anyone asking to make contact about this fine.
when I called, they said I did not turn up to court. However the letter did say “I do not have to be at court” if I remember correctly.
I have not moved house or had anyone tamper with my letters.
