So it’s been 2 months now since the defence was submitted and I’ve heard nothing from the court.

I have now had a couple of letters from Cabot advising of discounts and a second urging I get in touch to ‘avoid an agent visiting’.

I’m assuming this is all because they aren’t confident of legal success. Do I need to reach out to the court again or does it just remain in this state of limbo until Cabot/Restons wish to continue the case?

      a) I have now had a couple of letters from Cabot advising of discounts and a second urging I get in touch to ‘avoid an agent visiting’.

It does sound like they are struggling with their case.

I would wait for Cabot / Restons to comeback to you, the 28 days has lapsed so the case is 'stayed' until they do.
