    Claim Form - too late?

    I received a claim form on the 9th of September and due to sheer negligence didn't take any action until today.

    I filled in the AoS but not sure if there's any point in going ahead with this as it clearly mentions within 14 days.

    Should I go ahead and pay the amount? Or draft a defence and just hope for the best? Guess worst comes to worst a mediation would still be cheaper (?) than paying the claimed amount.

    what is this subject all about? refers to what? more real info?

      If the claimant has obtained a default judgement against you, it is unlikely to want to mediate unless you can show very good reasons why it should.

        Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

        Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

        If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
