    LC Asset claim

    Hello

    Ive just received a claim form from the county court regarding a credit debt I was paying off. It appears the debt changed hands, I received a letter from LC asset asking for payment I responded on 1st August querying if the was the debt was the one I was already making payment to via Wescott. I heard nothing and then yesterday (dated 23rd Sept) I received a county claim from LC asset. No pre action letter and no response to my letter. Totally out the blue and not really sure whether to defend/admit etc. The debt is mine and Im happy to make arrangement to pay as per my letter in August I just want clarification. Do I mention the no pre action letter to the court or contact LC direct.

    They have also added an extra £514.46 in interest to the claim, seems to be from the date they say they took over the debt.

    Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

    Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

    If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
