  • Awaze Rentals Group County Court Claim

I booked a holiday through snaptrip.com and cancelled. I paid the £165 deposit and there was a cancellation charge of £125 with a non refundable deposit of 165. theyve kept the £165 which I took as paying the cancellation charge plus some. Its the only booking i've made.

However I've now received a county court claim claiming an extra £140 from awaze rental group who I've never had a booking with and can only assume snaptrip were brokering the holiday for them. They said they've made attempts to contact me which i've looked in my spam and can see some contact from them but no proper attempt e.g. phone or written mail. What are my rights? I don't want a CCJ but I don't want to pay more money out as I've already covered the charge and the numbers don't add up either. What are my rights and what should I do?.

Can you tell us why you cancelled and how you paid? Credit card, debit card etc? A summary would be good.
