  • Claim Form for lack of rent payments

Hi, my aunt has received a claim form for rent arrears. My aunt made payments on the rent and advised the company for over 12 months that there were serious damaged to the property that required urgent repairs. She sent pictures showing damp and sinking floors which were causing concern for health. They came out and partially repaired the walls in the kitchen but that was all. My aunt and kids had to move out in the August due to the state of the property and called the estate agents to advise them of this and we would not be paying anything until the repairs were completed. There was no communication until October when they came to her new house after finding it online and demanded the keys for the house telling us they will not be seeking payment.

Any help drafting a defence would be greatly appreciated!

    TIA
