    Is this legal?

    I have an ongoing dispute with someone over a £220 bill.

    Today I got a phone call saying the surveyor has passed on the debt to his friend (a builder who originally recommended him and woo has paid the surveyor ) and that small claims court will have his details. This is the first I have heard of this. The builder is not a debt collector in anyway.

    is this possible/legal?

    The surveyor is the original one who claims I owe him money I should add

    Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

    Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

    If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
