Change of address - how to handle

I am currently involved as the defendant in a case. It has been assigned to my local court but there has been no hearings so far. There is a management hearing that is due soon.

I have recently moved to an new address which is very far from the original court (I have moved back with my parents).

Should I write to the court to tell them and ask that the case is moved to my new local court.

Are there any downsides to doing so, and is there a specific procedure that I need to follow, or will a simple letter be OK? Are there any fees to pay.

Hope somebody can please advise.

Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
