Background:
Numerous credit cards defaulted at the end of 2022 / start of 2023, c50k debt.
Severeal reasons, excuses and part justifcations of why this came round, but it is what it is now.
All cards have been passed to debt collectors, which I have maintained NO CONTACT with whatsoever. I thought i'd be able to ignore everything for a year before starting a DPP / DAS (I believed this to be essential as I work in financial services).
However, on Monday i was served with an initial writ from Nolans for 2 credit cards that Cabot had taken on: MBNA (2016) c12k , BoS (2016) c4k.
The writ contains a very basic claim that I entered into these contracts and didnt pay. No reference or account numbers stated.
I have until the 26th to respond.
What are my options?
Do I send off CCA requests - and hope Cabot can't provide the relevant paperwork - and therefore prevents Nolans achieving a decree? Does that mean I need to defend the claim? What happens if they then find the paperwork? Can i really run that risk?
Is it too late to now get StepChange involved to get a DPP/DAS setup for all my debts, and prevent a decree from being granted. That's my absolute priority here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
G
