I have a money claim for 11k for which I filed a defence last year then it was stayed. The claimants solicitor has said that they are about to lift the stay. I now want to pay the debt in full to avoid a court case.
If I offer to pay the debt in full before the stay is lifted do they still charge court fees and costs and any other fees (if so, which?).
If I offer to pay the debt in full after the stay is lifted but before the hearing do they still charge court fees and costs and any other fees (if so, which?).
Do I have any leverage for making a full and final offer of less than the full debt amount?
