Court hearing for CCJ question

hi,
Looking for some advice please, I have been notified of a court hearing date for a CC claim from one of the well known solicitors on here ( they have notified me via email but no letter from court yet)......

If I were to pay the amount claimed in full before the hearing date, can they still go ahead with the hearing and try to claim costs? could these costs then turn into a CCJ?

Potentially yes to both. Try to negotiate a full and final settlement.

Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
