  • No Order as to Costs??

    Hello,

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

My father is the defendant in a fast track case.

There has already been a preliminary hearing and we have filed directions. The other side is represented by a very expensive solicitor and we have no representation.

just received a letter which is a “General Form of Judgement or Order” stating the date by which to file directions if not done so.

    The other point states

“2. There shall be no order as to costs”

Sorry if stupid question but can someone explain what this means as previously the claimants solicitors have said they will be claiming their clients costs.

    Thank you.

That order means neither side is entitled to recover their costs of the preliminary hearing (unless automatic costs provisions apply,)
