Sole trader becomes limited before I can sue

I commissioned some building work in may last year off a sole trader. The work was inferior and incomplete so I want to go to the small claims court. I noticed today that he has set himself up as a limited company in March of this year. I didn't get a written contract.
Does this mean he can use his limited company status to avoid paying me by just going bust?

You contracted with the sole trader and that is who you claim against.

Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
