  • judgement wording - can anyone help?

This wording is on a Judgement from the court of appeal about the validity of a court order after court errors - can anyone help with what this wording means..

'We grant an extension of time and permission to appeal on Ground 1, but dismiss the appeal.'

The court of appeal decided the order was valid - but does this mean the order is valid but permission is granted to appeal it?

No - it means that permission to argue that the order was not validly made was given by the court of appeal but having heard that argument the court of appeal ruled that the order made by the lower court was valid i.e enforceable.

It seems from your parallel post that the order was a a proceeds of crime order against two defendants, in the total amount of about 1/2 million pounds
