  • Bringing a case against Daikin for leaving my family in a dangerous state

    Hi All,

We have been going through a house renovation for the past 10 months and a huge part of this was to upgrade to airsource heating. We chose Daikin due to their brand and the product's capabilities matching what we were looking for. We went to Daikin’s website and found a Daikin Sustainable Centre being recommended by them. We contacted this centre and they didn’t have their own installers so they went back to Daikin, at which point an employee of Daikin gave them a list of recommended installers for Daikin equipment, one of which was our installer.

Fast forward to where we are now and this installer has completely ruined the install, the pipes are wrong, the system design is inefficient and the system is inoperable and dangerous in its current state. At one point I questioned the pipe sizes at which point another Daikin employee in Tech Support confirmed back to our installer that the sizes where ok, however now after Daikin have been to look at the install they have said it's wrong and needs to be started again.

2 Daikin employee have been key to our build turning into a disaster and initially, Daikin said they would help to rectify this however now they have the costs for the building works as well as the heat pump works they are now saying its too much money. My wife is heavily pregnant and due in March, I have a 3yr old son and we have had no heating/hot water for 4-5 months. To string us along for 2 month’s and then pull support out so close to my wife due date is causing so much stress and im concerned for my families health.

There is more to the story with Daikin including them sacking the Sales Rep who recommended our installer 1 day after we messaged their MD for the UK with our problem. We have heard that the installer and this sales rep were friends but we can't confirm this at this time. I am here as I would like to understand what our next steps could be from a legal perspective, is there anything from a Vicarious Liability perspective we could pursue?

    Thank for helping

Was there one contract - supply and fit, or two contracts 1 supply & 2 fit?
