Pre action protocol - 14 days or 30 days??

Hi there!

I'm currently in the process of taking legal action against a company. I have sent them a letter before action stating they have 14 days to reply (which has since elapsed) But now i'm reading regulations changed in 2017 allowing them 30 days to respond? Is this correct? If so, do I need to redraft another letter?

Acknowledge Claim - within 14 days from Service

Defend Claim - within 28 days from Service (IF you acknowledged in time)

If you fail to Acknowledge the claim you may have a default judgment awarded against you, likewise, if you fail to enter your defence within 28 days from Service.
