Hi, I am hoping for some clarity to a few questions I have around CCJs, PCNs and defending them.*
I am a health care professional, I pay to park at my place of work, the sum is taken from my salary automatically.**
I have recently found out that a CCJ was entered against me earlier this year after a random credit file check. Within the last 2 weeks I have contaced NCCBC to get more details as this was a complete surprise. I then called Gladstones who are the reps for Horizon Parking.*
I have emailed Gladstones for consent to set aside the CCJ as I moved twice last year and believe this is the reason why I did not receive the court papers.*
In the bundle sent, two of the PCNs state that I was not displaying a valid permit. I was an authorised permit holder as I can prove through my pay slips. I was displaying a car parking permit, it was not the newer version that my employers introduced around the time of the PCNs. We had to go to a different department to collect the new permit, which was I did do eventually, but could this be why I received the tickets?*The other PCN was for over staying a 1 hour visitor car park by 59 minutes on one of my weekly "non-paking" days. On the day I overstayed I was in a meeting with someone, and without disclosing identifiable information, was not able to get out of the meeting in order to move my car.*
I also have a condition (classed as a disability) that affects my cognition.*
Do I have a leg to stand on?*Many thanks in advance.*HeronS
