  • Money Claim Online

    Hi All

I'm a Claimant pursuing a Defendant for breach of contract via the small claims court online (under £10k). The claim has been issued by myself and the defendant has been served. They have until the 27th of April to submit submit their response to the court. If they don't reply by the 27th deadline I'm aware that I can on the 28th request online to Request Judgment in Default. This would be great! I've read though that if the courts receive the defendants reply (even though late) between my Default judgment request and it's granting then my request for Default is cancelled and proceedings progress as usual. So my question is does anyone know how long it takes for Money Claim Online to process a Default judgment? I'm exploring my chances of a default judgment getting through before the defendant gets their response in. Is it simply an automated process (so very fast) or is it reliant on a person/judge looking at the case?

Thanks for reading and any thoughts welcome.

    Regards
