  • Dispute with a limited company I 'invested' in

Hello, any help would be greatly appreciated with this:

I naively put just shy of 10k into my ex (romantic) partner's business. *Hands up, I was stupid and silly and did not do due diligence.

I am listed on Companies House as a shareholder (only 2.5%, again, I was silly) and have a share certificate. *I have nothing more than that but a few emails with conditions I set (such as seeing regular bank statements, regular updates, seeing accounts etc.) which he agreed to on email. *These conditions have all been broken, I have no contract and we are no longer on speaking terms.

In addition, on the bank statements I did see, I saw numerous unexplained cash withdrawals and bank transfers to his friends with references to drug use. *It looks like he treats the business account fraudulently as his own piggy bank. I very much doubt receipts have been kept and the books will be fraudulent also. *From what I can see online the business is currently trading and he may also be swindling customers too.

I stupidly, yet willingly, put this money in in the first place, but is there anything I can do to try and get even some of it back? *I was looking at a small claim, a statutory demand or contacting Action Fraud but I don't know if any of those would get me anywhere. *I recently had a CCJ issued against him personally for a I made, I won and he is refusing to pay that back, which shows his true character, I am looking at enforcement options for this now.

I feel he is a serial conman and worried he could be conning somebody else right now.

    Many thanks for your time
