Hello all.
i wonder if you could help.
I've rented where i live for 4 years and council tax has always been paid by my landlord as per my contract. He has since died and his daughter has taken over. She changed thecouncil tax to us against the contract, which i am dealing with.
but
We are still liable to the council as living in the property.
came home to day to a bailiff letter saying they had visited but the liability order is in my name and they have said my wife's name is Pamela(which it isn't) can they still enforce this with the name being completely wrong. They have never got it right. Her name is not even close.
I'm happy to pay while taking legal action on my landlord but now got a higher bill due yup the visit. So in short do they have the same powers or would they need to reapply for a new order with correct names.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
