  • No Compensation

My son took some of my possessions to a well known high street pawn broker. The pawn broker sold on the goods online. The police recovered my possessions and my son, yesterday, faced the magistrate. He was given a conditional discharge and ordered to pay the court costs and a £20 victim tax (as it was explained to me). The magistrate also used the words ‘no compensation’ What exactly does ‘no compensation’ mean? I suspect the pawn broker will compensate the end purchaser and will try and seek compensation through civil means from my son. I would welcome any advice.
    I thank you in anticipation.
