Hi everyone! I am helping a young friend who found out last week that the DVLA had been to court and a fine had been made for £1000 as she had failed to change the registration details of her car when she moved last year.Complete oversight , she had changed her driving licence and all other official documents. She is a single parent and moved for work. The first she knew of this fine was on being contacted by a bailiff. Apparently they had also contact her previous employer to get hold of her and explained that she owed money! She has checked and no letters were sent to her previous address and she had no opportunity to defend the case in court. The bailliffs have already added £121 to the fine. I am told that by using a statutory declaration we can halt all the bailliff action and make an appeal back to the court, is this correct and how do we do this?
Hope someone can help.Thank you
