  • Advice needed ccj issued bw legal lowell

    Hi All ,
Just wanted some advice as the best way forward.
BW legal,Lowell starting sending me emails about an outstanding debt I had from a credit card company. During this communication I advised BW that I emigrated overseas (2014)and that I only have a forwarding mailbox which would cease after December 2016. I wanted to negotiate the debt but they became aggressive and started threatening me with a CCJ after which I ignored there emails.
I returned to UK March 2017 to sell my house. When I entered my property I had a letter from Northampton business court for a CCJ. I panicked during my short week stay and made a call to arrange to pay the debt off in instalments which they agreed. However when I returned I got really angry that they had sent the CCJ to to an address which I had not been a resident since 2009 ! and stopped payments. I lived at several addresses after 2009 up until I emigrated (2014)so this was not the last known address.
    So my question is:
    1. Can I get the CCJ set aside with consent and pay the debt off , will the CCJ come off my record ?
    2. Should I deal directly with the court providing proof I was out of the country & ask them to set it aside and pay it off ?
    3. Shall I just pay the whole debt in one go and get a certificate ?
    4. Any other ideas ?
    Thanks
