  • DWF letter demanding £150

I have just received a letter from DWF demanding £150.

I have read similar posts on here but advice ranges from writing to the firm to ignoring them and I don't know what to do.

Citizen's Advice have told me that I need to make a decision to ignore the letter (but risk court proceedings) or pay - but according to everything I've read here court proceedings won't happen.

I do suffer with anxiety and depression and the whole situation is unbearable.

I can't afford to pay but can't risk court proceedings either, I would be grateful for any advice.

It is your choice whether to pay or not.

The advice now is not to pay, and to ignore their letters.
These companies no longer initiate court actions, following a trouncing that was handed out in what is known as The Oxford Case.
It was shown that there is no legal basis for the charge they try to levy.

If you write to them disputing the matter, they seem to take it as encouragement, and will increase the pressure they apply.... so ignore the series of letters they will send you!
