They could well write to your parents as you are under 18 years old, if they know their address (I believe you gave false details)
They should not do so, but pretend they are doing so out of concern for your well being.
Their aim is to pressurise your parents into paying, but as it is nothing to do with them they should ignore RLP as well.
If RLP know your home address I would advise you confide in your parents before they get a letter from RLP.
Yes they will be disappointed and probably shout a bit, but you were led on by your friends and it was not the crime of the century.
I'd hope they would see it as it is, and give you their support.
Still RLP issue toothless threats about what will happen if you don't pay...sent to juvenile what?

Not telling your mum is now not an option. You can get her to come on here and look at the threads on RLP
What they have done is blackmail and potentially a breach of the Data Protection Act. Tell mum now and if your mum does get that letter them I'm sure the forum will be able to compose a more than suitable to respond with.
Here's a link to a RPL case that they dared to take to court a few years ago.and got so shot down by the judge that they haven't dared to try again since.
As they knew you were 16 they should handled the interview in store differently. They could possibly have broken the law.

Wouldn’t it be unlawful for RLP to demand any payment in writing from a minor.Last edited by Setmefree3; 17th July 2018, 10:42:AM.

That it a threat and needs a response. No doubt the forum can come up with something. I think the very least is that they should be told that you do not consent to them contacting any other person on theis matter and to do so will be considered a breach of the GDPR and could incur serious penalties for them. You also note that they are saying that the claim is from their client. You have reason to believe that this is patently untrue and it is purely a claim from RLP themselves. Point out that there has been no loss in this matter, similar to the judgement in the Oxford case.

There are also guidelines that a security operative must abide to. I believe that they must have a SIA licence, this is usually displayed on their jackets etc. A freedom of information request was made a while back asking about their powers. Below is the response.
1. Do security guards have a right, if any, to stop a member of the
public and request a search of their bags and can the member of the public
refuse?
Security operatives may be required to request to inspect bags as part of
their duties. A member of public retains the right to refuse to have their
bag searched.
2. Does the public have any right to deny to talk to a guard?
Members of the public are under no obligation to speak to a security
operative if they choose not to.
3. Do security guards have any right to touch, hold or grab a member
of the public when not detaining them?
SIA licence holders are awarded no powers or rights over and above any
other member of the public.
4. Does the SIA have any formal complaints procedure against
security guards that have performed against their duties (for example,
detaining somebody without reason).
If you believe that an SIA licence holder has acted unlawfully, we would
like to know about this. This information would be treated as
intelligence, and we would investigate this with reference to the Private
Security Industry Act 2001 (PSIA) and intimate any enforcement actions we
feel appropriate. Reports of such instances can be made to us here:

You could get all legal with them, but as your mother knows about the incident, my advice is to continue to ignore them.
I see no point in engaging with them over a possible breach of data protection laws.
They have covered their backs by suggesting they are concerned for your welfare.
We know this is a blind for putting pressure on you, and if that fails they will try and get your parents to pay.
RLP aren't stupid, they are clever at pressurising people by implied threats.
If you engage with them they will apply even more pressure.
Just ignore them.
If your mother is concerned show her this thread, or other similar threads on this or other forums.
We all say the same

Have you read the Oxford case? Here's a Link to the beagles summary and the transcripts. You will see that they got nothing and went away with their tail between their legs and a very unhappy client who they had cost a lot of money. The judge basically said that the had no losses as the staff would have been paid anyway, and lots of other things. They haven't tried again since.
You could always remind them of that case and make them unhappy.

Continue to ignore!! RLP cannot take you to court and Primark won't xDebt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.
It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...
