I have been doing quite a bit of work into checking out the CCAs on my credit cards (with the unfailing help of the lovely Curlyben to whom I am truly grateful!).
As most of you may be aware, when you get issued with a new card, you sometimes get issued with a new number too. I know there has been quite a bit of chat about whether this 'new' card with its 'new' number can legally be taken as the same as the original account ... and I believe I am right in saying that it can.
However, this is quite interesting and wonder if anyone has any thoughts ...
I originally took out a Lloyds TSB Visa credit card which I have had for 2 or 3 years now. I have just noticed on my statements that the number has changed (I'm sure I have received the new cards at some point) but also the account has changed too in that the account is now a Mastercard account.
My question is ... can the orginal CCA for the Visa be applied to the new Mastercard account and, assuming the CCA for the Visa card is compliant, does it follow that it would be compliant for the new Mastercard?
