  • Harvey's furniture issue

Took delivery of a new suite 29/03/16, within a few months noticed a fault develop on one of the chairs. Notified retailer,8/12/16 who sent out an estimator, stated there was something wrong with the finish to the leather causing the problem and ordered a new arm/repair. That was competed 24/3/17. 2nd chair now has exactly the same problem, same estimator viewed it and again has ordered a replacement arm for repair. Suite was not cheap, on 0% finance and am still paying for it. I am not happy to accept repair after repair on this and have asked for the suite to be replaced. no good just replacing either a single whole chair or both chairs, as with furniture will make rest of suite look odd.Am i within my rights to insist on a complete replacement, can i ask for a refund or do i have to keep accepting the repairs....am awaiting responses but just want to know where i stand.Seems to be the craze in this country that if something is defective you have to allow a repair not a replacement or money back. I have allowed one, but not happy to continue to do this.. can anyone advise.
    thanks

In my opinion, yes if it is under warranty. However, if you can settle in better way then, I guess it is great than having suite.

        Re: Harvey's furniture issue

        Hi and welcome
If you believe the suite of furniture is not of satisfactory quality you are entitled to reject it (Consumer Rights Act 2015)
You will need to show it is unsatisfactory if the case was to reach court.
You can opt for replacement or refund.
If you opt for refund the trader can make a deduction for the use you have had from the suite
