So on the 9/02/17 I went to the local tesco store (5min walk) to get a few bits for tea with my 2 little ones age 2.5 and 15 months, my 2 year old was walking and my 1 year old in the pram, we went to the top floor as my little ones needed socks (potty training and she peed through all her clothes) I had a basket in 1 hand, pushing the pram with the other and hurrying the 2 year old along, got upstairs picked out some socks, some fluffy bed socks for the baby £2 and a pack of socks for the eldest £5 I put them on the hood of my pram while shouting the 2 year old back as I was getting fruit beg and meat and didn't want anything to leak on them, something I always do as that has happened previously...
I grab the 2 year old and continue grabbing my fresh fruit and veg to which my 2 year old kept running off and talking to other people and staff, I made my way over to the door to the security guard to ask if I could leave my basket and go get a trolly, he offered to help and got me a trolly, I sat the 2 year old in one end of the small trolly and the shopping on the other and continued to shop pushing the pram with one hand and pulling the now angry 2 year old in the trolly, I got the rest of my shopping, stopped and spoke to my friend who works there went to the till, forgot my loo roll,went to get it and back to the till,
putting the shopping on the conveyor belt and the 2 year old taking it off, let's just say I was pretty stressed out now and the cashier distracted the monster with the charity pot on the till, paid for my shopping and gave the little one some change to put in the charity box she was playing with, got given some green tokens, took my little one the loo so she didn't wee herelf and then took her to put in the box by the door, still pushing the pram and pulling the trolly, thanked the security guard for helping me nd went outside,
Sat on the bench nd tried to make a cigarette whilst ringing my mum to ask her to pick me up, looked on the hood of my pram for my lighter noticed the socks and panicked and put them in top of my bags in the trolly so that the 2 year old didn't grab them and rag them open, I was so embarrassed and was gonna have my fag then go pay and I had to go back in to get some cigi papers anyway...
Next thing 2 security guards walked over I hung up on my mum and said 'cause of the socks' to which he replied we seen what you did, and I said I'm gonna go pay for them now I had forgot all about them on top of the pram, you seen how stressed I was, he then ushered me, the pram and the trolly to the back of the shop, didn't even offer to help me, got to the back office and me still explaining that it was an accident, how if I was gonna steal I wouldn't sit outside the store and have a fag when I live round the corner, baring in mind my 2 year old still kicking off and trying to get out the trolly, and peed herself in the process of the thing...
He gave me the speech of stealing and how I would receive a fine, at this point still not had a fag to calm down from the shopping trip I was I'm a right state, my 2 year old was asking you okay mummy what's wrong which just set me off even more....
They took the socks and I said can I go pay for them cause I need them either way, I had just forgot about them while taming the kids...
Grrrr whole load of stress that was unneeded, I've never stole anything in my life never mind 7pound worth of baby socks and had all intention to go and pay for them after I had had my 2 min fag to chill from the shopping trip
The following day I rung tesco and spoke to the security manager who stated I had plenty of opportunity to remove the socks and out them in the basket/trolly, but seriously I had forgotten they were there with the little one running away every 2 seconds whilst trying to shop and them both kicking off, I then spoke to the manager of the store who when I told of the situation agreed that it doesn't sound intentional and agreed to call me back, I'm still waiting for that call 3 weeks later, not happy being branded a thief when I'm not
So now I've received 3 letters from dwf llp, I've read to ignore them so I have but now I'm crapping myself, can someone help me give me advice anything, technically I did leave the store with them unknowingly but I didn't leave the premises I was literally sat on the bench outside the store in eyesight of the doors, I should have just left them on the hood but I panicked and was embarrassed and put them onto of the bags in the trolly, not in them on the top of them...

I'm happy with one now (and SHE's a little witch - she has my temper and her dad's stubbornness
