  • football season ticket

this is unusual bt maybe someone can help.

I received my reminder in April and reurned it immedialtly, Unfortunatly i filled the form in wrong, abd it was retirned with a letter and a new direct debit for 4 payments.
This was sent off, and i heard nothing.

I noticed my direct debit had not been taken from my bamk, and telephoned the club, who informed me that my seat has been sold to another person.

after numerous calls they have offered me another seat, and today have sent me a e-mail to the effect that my debit card did not accept payment, I know this is correct as
    1) i know i need to transfer fundsa to meet the payment
    2) i have not accepted or agreed to a new seat.

what rights do I have to get my original seat, inview of the fact that they new i was renewing, and are now putting the blame on the post office.

How was it filled in wrong? Did you decline renewal, wrong address, bank details etc

This was sent off, and i heard nothing.
Do you normally recieve confirmation, what has happened in previous years

I noticed my direct debit had not been taken from my bamk, and telephoned the club, who informed me that my seat has been sold to another person.
When was this, a month later, weeks, yesterday, etc

after numerous calls they have offered me another seat, and today have sent me a e-mail to the effect that my debit card did not accept payment, I know this is correct as
    1) i know i need to transfer fundsa to meet the payment
    2) i have not accepted or agreed to a new seat.
When did they offer you a seat?
You had to transfer funds, wasnt their funds there for the original seat?
If you havent accepted a seat on what basis have they attempted to take money

what rights do I have to get my original seat, inview of the fact that they new i was renewing, and are now putting the blame on the post office.
Where does the Post Office bit come into it?

Can you just clarify the situation a bit more please.
IE with a timeline so we can see the process that has happened and the timescales involved etc

Then we can have a proper look for you

Also what club is it? do you have a copy of their T&Cs

    Cheers PKea

      the club is sunderland

the from was not understood by me. I sent debit card details for them to collect from, and did not fill in the bank direct debit form in Early April.

yes but i received a letter telling me i had filled the form in wrong and they sent me a direct debit from, which was returned immediatly

normally i think i received a confirmation but i am unsure

was due out 1 may when there were suffiecient funds in the account

ofered me a seat today be e-mail, they mentioned on friday thet they had one nearby. by telephone
i do not know why tbey tried to take money today
and i sent them by e-mail copies of the various correspondence

they are blaming the post office for the lost or non arrival of my direct debit sent after i received a from with the above letter. and I received no further correspondance from them by telephone they confirm that non was sent and it was their fault

fund now need transferring from a deposit account to my current accoubnt, however if they had taken the finds it would have been for a seat i did not agree to

Generically the seat is rented on a 12 month basis - there is no promise stricktly of keeping the same seat - it's something clubs offer to reward loyal fans. they can remove this when they see fit, the can change the section the away fans go, they can move 'normal fans' for 'corporate areas' all at their own whim.

Fans look at it as their seat but it's not.

If your response and new DD went back in time, despite other problems the best you can argue for now is really a bit of compo or a free shirt for inconvenience. Basically, if the original confirmation wasn't in from you correctly by the right date the club can sell the seat to another as it is deemed you haven't taken up the option they gifted you.

The compo and shirt kicks in because of the PO problems, but you lose the seat effectively because you filled the form in wrong to begin with.

As part of the makeup you can add in will the club promise you your old seat next season, if you take a new seat this season. But I doubt that would happen as priority 'gifting' of that seat now goes to the new occupier - the best you will get probably is first refusal should a new seat come available in that section next year.
