I don't know about garages, but I certainly do replace complete kits for myself.
While the engine is stripped down you might as well do a proper job and replace the whole kit and caboodle.
Other than for MOT's I can't remember ever leaving a car to the tender mercies of a garage.
And certainly wouldn't leave the B" or AC with one!
