im new to this sort of thing ,
right last weekend I received a email from Thomson regarding a final payment reminder ,which I was excepting (not a problem ) ,but at the bottom of my email was a attachment and on this attachment was the addresses,phone numbers and email address and a final amount owed on the holiday of each person .there was over 450 people on this list so I know that in 12 weeks time 450 people would be on holiday,I then later in the day received a recall email from Thomson trying to get the email back .
well I was not happy at all knowing that 450 other people knew my personal details and that in 12 weeks time I would be away on my hols .this information in the wrong hands would cause a awful lot of problems for people .
i have emailed Thomson to give them on my concerns regarding the data protection breach,to which they have all agreed saying they know that they have breached the data protection act .
i told them my concerns about people knowing I would be away in 12 weeks time and asked them what they where willing to do about it ,the options I got where ,I could have a full refund or I could change my dates .
none are a real option as these are the only dates we could get off at work .
i asked about if there would any compansation or goodwill gesture and the kind man said no .
I have paid my holiday in full and are looking at a additional costs of getting someone to stop in my home while I'm away .
does anyone know if I have a claim against them .
