Friend of mine today made an advance booking for hire a car - at an airport - for some friends who will be visiting next month. Once she got the confirmation email, she was surprised to see the following final paragraph:-
"A standard airport surcharge of Euro 28 will be added to the rental cost when you pick up your car from Dublin Airport"
Now, I know this is in the ROI but I can't imagine the machinations being that much different from the UK. My friend is adamant that this charge did not appear anywhere on the booking form, unless it was buried well inside the small print. She refuses to contest it (on the grounds that it's a 'done deal') but shouldn't something like this be right up front with the other charges?
