Hi,
I bought a Laptop on De-pop at the end of December last year (depop is an app similar to ebay). I paid through paypal.
When I purchased I requested that the seller wraps it up well, she replied by saying she knows how to wrap it up. When i received the laptop its screen was cracked. I requested a refund. I did it all through paypal. However due to my work I did not check an email which was sent by paypal for me to escalate the claim and send the laptop back and provide a tracking number. As i did not see these emails Paypal closed my claim.
I contacted paypal to request them to re-open it however they stated that it was not possible and that my only option was to communicate with the seller.
So i sent a message via the app to the seller.. she stated she will give me a full refund if i return the product. So i decided the best option would be to return the laptop to her personally.. I did not know that she was not going to give the money there and then.. I had presumed she would. So after travelling to return it to her she told me she would refund me through paypal as soon as she has the money. Several months have gone by and we are now in May I have her mobile number and I called her as she stated she would be refunding me at the end of May when she has the money. Before that her explanation for not giving a refund was she was in the middle of a house move.
So stupidly me being a trusting person I waited until the end of May. I called her to confirm a few days before the end of May and she had said she will give me a refund 30th of May.
I did not receive the refund and she is now ignoring my calls.
I have sent several messages.. no response
I have evidence of messages sent by her through Depop that she would refund me and also I have the original listing. I paid £220 for the laptop
I know i made a stupid mistake by not first of all completing it through paypal as im always smart about these things but i decided to trust her word as she seemed genuine.
Is there any way I can get my money back
Thanks for your advice
