hello there.
This is regarding a cover up of police assault torture/abuse which resulted in a fractured leg and damaged other body parts. But as I had done nothing wrong and had no criminal record, there was no arrest, I was free to go and went to A&E that morning.
more detail:
I was simply riding my bike to the shops one morning when I was assaulted and tortured on the ground by a police officer to gain my personal details. I did not wish to give my details because I had done nothing wrong at all, this was clarified by the officer, he just wanted to profile me on his computer, but I simply did not wish to be seen on his computer as suspicious for no reason at all. I had also been stopped for riding my bike before for no reason, so I had googled my libertarian rights. Unfortunately this upset the officer, as I was firm with my rights, so I offered him to search me as a compromise, I didn't mind that too much. But it was too late. I had upset him, there was nothing I could say to calm him.
After he ripped me off my bike, with no commands, he then brutally thrashed me around on the end of his cuff and chain, for a long time. like I was an abused animal at a circus. He threatened pepper spray and when I said "I do not know what you want me to do", he then picked me off my feet and threw me knees first onto the ground, he then worked very hard on my wrist on the ground, driving it in and then telling me to "shut up " when I cried out in pain. He did this repeatedly for far too long. He eventually gained my personal details. after saying " Now you have to give me your name and address". He then left me tightly bound in the cuffs. My skin was broken and bleeding and I was swollen inside the cuffs, it was terrible. He said he would not loosen the cuffs because he had lost his key. When he called my name through the radio I shouted "help help" to HQ. More police cars arrive and blue lights awash the street. The officer told the other 5 officers, that had arrived, that he lost his key. They all went along with this story (even though they all had the same key, I later found out), so they all prolonged my unnecessary pain, as I was already cleared by hq and my bag was searched. I pleaded for the cuffs to be loosened, as I feared for my wrist, this went on for maybe 10 minutes or more. I thought it could be fractured. Eventually, after much time, as I did not even swear, I was not arrested or taken to a station, they let me go and I went to A&E the same morning. My leg was very swollen, and painful. but it It took eight more weeks to find out I had a fractured leg (MRI). I also had damaged wrist nerves, my hand was all numb for a very long time. it was very scary for me and the man threaten the same treatment, so that was not nice either.
I went to a 'police specialist solicitor' and told him what happened. He took me on as a client based on what I said above (with more detail), it took the company 3 months to send my complaint to the police regarding begin tortured and abused. When the police eventually received this complaint, it then took them a further 1 year to actually interview me. I said I would only feel comfortable going if he, my solicitor, would be there, he agreed, but then changed his mind later (he told me to do as I was told at the interview) and so I had to take family along. The inspector who composed my witness statement in his own hand writing, refused to include that I was abused/tortured on the ground and the missing hand cuff key story was not included either.(likely so that only one officer had a complaint, not the entire group) my family witnessed his stubbornness and refusal and various other things too.
The whole complaint was watered down in the eventual police report too, in the "nature of the allegations" and "account from *(victim)". Only 1 officer needed to hand over his pocket book, 3 of the officers gave a mini statement on the police report. Yet all 6 were involved (refusing to set me free, when I should have been free to go) The 3 officers stated they had no idea I was in any pain and I was free to go when ever I liked, stating I was shouting illegibly and moving my arms ( shouting at 2am outside peoples bedrooms?) and the one officer who assaulted me said I grabbed hold of him so he took me to the ground. Please remember, I was not arrested this is very untrue what they say. However, I was pleading for release at just above normal level, they knew exactly what I was saying and I was certainly not free to go.
When I told my solicitor (who was meant to be at the interview) that my compliant was not being taken seriously by the police, he refused me my right to freely contact the police so that I could try to have my account and the allegations corrected. My solicitor said that I was not allowed to say I was assaulted or tortured and the lost hand cuff key story that was also kept off the police report, which was replaced with "showed me lack of care" did not make any difference. I was told by my solicitor that this was a civil matter and if I contacted the police to say I was abused or tortured I could be liable for further fees if I say the wrong things. He offered no help to me, so to correct these important aspects of my compliant on the police report and witness statement. So the police report and my complaint the solicitor had in his mind remained watered down to "lack of care, excessive force". I also felt I was trapped in a contract with the solicitor.
3 years into the case, my solicitor still had not gathered my medical records together. There was always some excuse or a problem had arose, like waiting 6 months to go to a medical, only to be sent to a dentist. At one stage the independent medical doctor I eventually met with, kept out lots of vital evidence from my A&E and GP records, I only found this out by chance myself, and had to go through all my medical evidence and create a .pdf file to correct the many mistakes he had made, he even missed out the first GP entry after the assault. Amazing. Again my solicitor showed little interest in the mistakes and the near eligible biro, poorly copied records from the hospital that held vital information he even expected me to confirm the medical report knowing so much info was missing and he even edited my .pdf I created for the independent medical doctor without my knowledge, before sending it, I only found this out because I demanded to see what he had sent. He had removed paragraphs and photographs.
Every level of this claim I felt I was being forced to back down from my initial complaint and to simply go along with an accidental fractured leg caused by excessive force, from being thrown to the ground. My wrist is barley spoken of at all. I feel this is a cover up of the truth. I do not think even the "'defendant' Chief Constable of * Police" knows I was abused/tortured on the ground to gain my details. Because it is not in the police report "nature of the allegations" or "the account from *(victim)". the officers certainly do not mention the abuse either. it is on my initial statement but that is hidden away,
Now 3 years are almost past the assault date, there is not much time. I only recently found out there was a dead line, that was kept from me too. Charming, ay?
I wonder does anybody here have any thoughts on this situation?
Thank you for your help.
