  • The AA and the £20 Admin fee

Ok, basic outline of the issue.
I have basic AA cover which I set up 20/1/2015 and commenced on 3/02/2015. Well, on saturday I had to get rid of my car due to age and problems that meant that the garage refused to test the car on the MOT(it's time was done).
However, I rang up to cancel the cover and was charged a £20.00 admin fee which meant that for just 6 days of cover they had £20.00 from me. Needless to say I am still miffed but can someone explain from their Terms and Conditions as to how the hell I got charged that fee?

Pffft!!! Working on the car insurance one next which charged me £50.00 admin to close it albeit theirs might be justifiable!

Have you received your membership documents, and if so when?
I read section 8 as meaning you have a cooling off period of 14 days from receipt of those papers to cancel your membership with a full refund.
However on page 25 they say they MAY charge £20 cancellation fee.
I'd try hassling for a full refund, and don't get me started on cancellation fees charged by so called brokers
